A collaborative effort of service providers, public and private funders
and evaluators who serve children and families in Wisconsin through a variety
of home visitation programs. In order to strengthen their advocacy efforts,
home visitation program directors recognized the need to develop common
evaluation methods to assess their level of success in supporting families
in Wisconsin. The goal of this project is to provide a common outcome measurement
process and support its use in home visitation programs throughout Wisconsin.
Outcome measurement has emerged as a critical component of nonprofit community-based
service provision. By providing the tools for effective program evaluation,
the project seeks to improve the quality and accountability of home visitation
This training session is designed to provide program directors, managers
and supervisors with the conceptual framework for proper administration
of The HOME Inventory within their programs. Topics covered include:
purpose of the HOME, research based development, validity and reliability,
cultural sensitivity, administration of The HOME Inventory, training
protocols, scoring The HOME Inventory and action planning.
This full day session is designed to provide technical information necessary
for the proper administration of The HOME Inventory. Topics covered
include item and subscale composition, inventory set-up, calibration
for valid and reliable data collection, techniques for acquiring information,
scoring, and interpreting scores
Topics covered include: features of ASQ and ASQ:SE, how to deliver and
score the ASQ and ASQ:SE, understanding cut-off scores, how to share
results with parents, referrals and follow-up.
Parents Plus is happy to be a partner in this training for Wisconsin
Model Early Learning Standards that is taking place throughout Wisconsin
for educators, child care providers and families who want to continue
to improve the quality of early education and care for children ages
three through the completion of kindergarten. Sixty-eight trainers
are providing training within local communities, regions and at the
state level for parents, child care staff, family child care providers,
preschool staff, Head Start/Early Head Start staff, four and five year-old
kindergarten staff, special education staff, administrators associated
with early education and care, and educators in higher education systems.
